{"id":2757,"date":"2013-10-22T10:32:47","date_gmt":"2013-10-22T10:32:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amphoreus2.gr\/soutzoukakia-greek-meatballs-in-tomato-sauce\/"},"modified":"2023-07-31T11:58:13","modified_gmt":"2023-07-31T11:58:13","slug":"soutzoukakia-greek-meatballs-in-tomato-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amphoreus.com.gr\/en\/soutzoukakia-greek-meatballs-in-tomato-sauce\/","title":{"rendered":"Soutzoukakia (Greek meatballs in tomato sauce)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin: 0 0 20px 0;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.amphoreus2.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/oldsite\/cache\/catalog\/blog\/c9b002fe1bb0320831a8ae78670fdb6f_XL-600x315.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the meatballs (should yield approx. 30 meatballs):<\/p>\n<p>500g finely minced meat (preferably a mix of 250g lamb and 250g beef or veal)<br \/>\n1 large onion, grated or finely chopped<br \/>\n1 tbsp vinegar<br \/>\n250g Green Cracked Olives<br \/>\n100g bread (soaked in water and then squeezed dry)<br \/>\n1 medium egg<br \/>\n1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley<br \/>\n1 tsp oregano<br \/>\n2 tsp cumin<br \/>\n1 tsp freshly ground black pepper<\/p>\n<p>For the sauce:<br \/>\n500g lightly concentrated tomato sauce<br \/>\n1 glass white wine<br \/>\n1 tsp sugar<br \/>\n2 cloves garlic, crushed (optional)<br \/>\n<strong>\u00bd cup Amphoreus Extra Virgin Olive Oil<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Put the onion, bread, egg, salt, pepper, cumin parsley vinegar and oregano in a food processor and blend well.<br \/>\nPlace the mixture in a bowl, add the minced meat and mix together with your hands.<br \/>\nTake approx 1tbsp of the mixture and form it into an oval shape meatball, continue until all the mixture has been used.<br \/>\nOil a flat oven-proof dish or deep baking tray and place the meatballs side by side in one layer.<br \/>\nBake in the middle of a very hot, pre-heated oven (200\u00b0C) for 20 minutes until the tops become brown. Remove and pour the wine over them.
